Dear TOAR-II community,
We are pleased to announce the final pre-release of our TOAR surface station database with significant updates. These updates complete and enhance the dataset in several ways to ensure its accuracy, reliability, and readiness for upcoming publications, including the final versions of your papers in the TOAR-II Community Special Issue.
As of today, this database version has been “frozen” making it the official, stable release suitable for citation in publications. Over the coming months we will stop adding new data and fully concentrate on the correction of possible errors in the data or metadata that you or any other user may find. The only exception with regard to new data are contributions from the Africa working group to maximize the visibility of data submissions from this important region.
For further information on the database enhancements we implemented, please see the news item published on the TOAR data portal (https://toar-data.org).
We hope that you will find it enjoyable to work with the TOAR-II database and our data services and invite you to provide feedback on these tools or ask questions.
Best regards,
The TOAR database team at the Jülich Supercomputing Center
